Mr. Shehzad Munim

MR. SHEHZAD MUNIM

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Mr. Shehzad Munim joined BAT Bangladesh as a Territory Officer in 1997, immediately after graduating from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.

Mr. Munim was appointed to the Board of Directors in the year 2010.

He has worked in various marketing roles within BAT Bangladesh before taking up assignments in BAT New Zealand as Group Brand Manager in 2003 and subsequently, taking over the role of Head of Brand Marketing in 2005. In 2006, he was engaged as a Manager in product and packaging innovation in Sydney, Australia. Afterward he returned to Bangladesh as Head of Brand and was appointed as Head of Marketing. In 2010, he took over the role of Area Head of Marketing for South Asia. Thereafter, he was appointed as the Managing Director of BAT Bangladesh in 2013 and is the first Bangladeshi to become the Managing Director of BAT Bangladesh and is historic first Bangladeshi to become the Managing Director of BAT Bangladesh. Within a short period, he has contributed immensely to elevate the organisation to its next level, ensuring sustainable shareholder and stakeholder value creation, while also enhancing the company’s contribution to economic development to achieve the SDG goals, aligned with the vision of the Government.

Currently he is the treasurer of British Business Group Board of Trustees. He is the President of Foreign Investors Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FICCI) Dhaka where he conducted many national and international programs and initiatives to expedite FICCI. It is in his leadership that BATB achieved significant success both locally as well as Internationally.

Ms. Amun Mustafiz

MS. AMUN MUSTAFIZ

FINANCE DIRECTOR

Ms. Mustafiz obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from IBA, Dhaka University, Bangladesh (2005), as Class Valedictorian. She completed several international trainings such as: Gearing up for Global Leadership, Senior Finance Transition Program, Senior Women Leadership program and so on.

Ms. Mustafiz is a well experienced senior Finance professional who has been part of BAT business for over 16 years and has worked across finance in various roles including Audit, Compliance and Commercial controller to Marketing and Operations departments. She has worked in multiple countries in Asia Pacific including Japan, Sri Lanka and Hongkong where she has to deal with multinational teams.

She has played a key role in shaping key strategies and commercials to drive short- & long-term growth, with focus on value acceleration and business sustainability. At the same time, she has been instrumental in developing talents and shaping culture in all countries she has worked in. In her last two roles, she has headed the finance department in Sri Lanka (part of Board of Director in Ceylon Tobacco Company) and Hong Kong, GTR and has successfully navigated the business through multiple crisis including covid.

Ms. Amun Mustafiz was appointed as a Finance Director to the Board of Directors of British American Tobacco Bangladesh on 1st October 2021.

Ms. Mustafiz worked in BAT for 16 years across multiples roles in finance in Bangladesh and multiple countries.

Mr. Charles Kyalo

MR. CHARLES KYALO

HEAD OF OPERATIONS

Charles is currently Operations Director for BAT Bangladesh. He joined BAT Kenya as a management trainee in Jan 2000 and over the last 20 years, he has grown through the organization in various roles of increasing responsibility & scope. This has shaped him into an experienced and respected business leader.

After doing several operations roles in BAT Kenya, Charles was appointed Head of Manufacturing in 2010. He had his first international assignment when he was appointed Manufacturing Manager BAT South Africa in 2013. He was subsequently promoted to Operations Director BAT West Africa Area in Jan 2015 based in Nigeria. In this role, he was responsible for end-to-end Operations for 25 countries in West Africa. After this very successful stint; he was appointed Area Supply Chain Director BAT Australasia based in Sydney and leading the Operations team in Australia and South Pacific markets

Charles has been in leadership team roles in three strategically important DRBUs making significant contribution across both business and people leadership. He is a fast, agile, resilient and ambitious business leader with a strong track record of delivering stretch performance in challenging environments. He is passionate about talent development and building high performing teams. Always ready to learn, coach & mentor.

Ms. Mubina Asaf

MS. MUBINA ASAF

HEAD OF LEGAL AND EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

Ms. Asaf possesses over 20 years of rich experience in the legal profession. Before joining BAT Bangladesh, she worked in the Attorney General’s Office of the Government of Bangladesh, first as an Assistant Attorney General and then as Deputy Attorney General for more than seven years. Before this, she was appointed as an Associate of Rokanuddin Mahmud and Associates, one of the most reputed law firms of Bangladesh. She is enrolled as an Advocate of the Dhaka District Court, High Court Division and Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. She leads and actively supports women empowerment initiatives in Bangladesh and is also involved in various social initiatives. She is the President of ‘Care in Need’ foundation (companion care service for elderly citizens) and is also in the board of ‘SEID Trust’ (daycare service for children with special needs).

Mr. Saad Jashim

HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Mr. Jashim joined BAT Bangladesh in 2006 as a Territory Officer after completing his Bachelor of Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. In 2008, he moved to the role of HR Executive, Industrial Relations & Welfare, and, since then, has performed a number of business partner roles across all functions of BAT Bangladesh. In 2013, he took over the role of Organisational Effectiveness Manager in BAT AsPac before taking over the role of HR Business Partner - Marketing in 2015. He eventually moved to the role of Senior HR Business Partner Operations & Corporate in 2016. He was appointed as the Head of HR in February 2019.

Mr. Numayer Alam

MR. NUMAYER ALAM

HEAD OF TRADE & PLANNING

Numayer Alam joined the BAT Bangladesh Leadership team as Head of Trade & Planning in February 2022. He began his career with BAT Bangladesh in 2004 as a Territory Officer in Trade Marketing. Over the past 18 years, he has gained extensive commercial and leadership experience through various roles in areas of Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing, Strategic Planning and Cross Functional Project Management both locally and internationally.

Mr. Alam completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He is also an alumnus of St. Joseph High School, Dhaka, and Notre Dame College, Dhaka.

Prior to being appointed as the Head of Trade & Planning of BAT Bangladesh, Mr. Alam was on an international assignment based in Vietnam holding a Leadership Team position for BAT East Asia Area (Vietnam & Cambodia) as Head of Consumer Marketing from 2020. Before that he also held the position of Head of Trade for BAT East Asia Area from 2017 to 2020.

Mr. Alam is passionate about creating a working environment with diversity, inclusion, empowerment and ownership which he believes is fundamental to sustainable business growth.

Mr. Sarzil Sarwar

MR. SARZIL SARWAR

HEAD OF DIGITAL BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

Mr. Sarzil Sarwar joined BAT Bangladesh as Head of Digital Business Solutions in January 2020.

Prior to joining BAT Bangladesh, he was the Group Head of Technology Programme and Performance Management at Axiata Group Berhad.

During his tenure at Axiata Group Berhad, Mr. Sarwar served in several management roles in Robi Axiata since 2012, overseeing various functions. He was also the Chairman of the Business Operations Committee for the past 2 years. He played a key role in transforming the company into a digital player.

Besides Axiata Berhad, Mr. Sarwar has also served other leading telecom companies such as Ooredoo, Airtel and Veon in various IT, B2B & Strategy functions across the Middle East, Africa and South Asian markets. He started his career with Telvista, a leading ICT company in the USA.

Mr. Sarwar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas and has completed several leadership programs with INSEAD & IMD Business School.

Mr.Sheikh Shabab Ahmed

HEAD OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

Sheikh Shabab Ahmed joined BAT Bangladesh Leadership Team as Head of External Affairs from 1st October 2021- He is one of the youngest leaders within the corporate sector.

He began his career at BAT Bangladesh as a Territory officer in 2006 and has gained a stellar career profile with extensive experience spanning across different functions. During his 16 years at BAT Bangladesh, he has served in several management and leadership roles in BAT Bangladesh in key departments such as Marketing, Corporate and Regulatory Affairs. Prior to his current role, he was appointed as the Global Regulatory Engagement Manager in 2017 at BAT’s Global Headquarters in London, UK.

Mr. Ahmed completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He is also an alumni of St Joseph High School, Dhaka and Notre Dame College, Dhaka.

He is a passionate leader who motivates teams to deliver extraordinary outcomes and actively drive a highperformance culture.

Jeremy Hackett

MR. JEREMY HACKETT

HEAD OF BRANDS

Jeremy Hackett joined the BAT Bangladesh Leadership team as the Head of Brands in 2021. He began his career at BAT New Zealand in 2007 as a Management Trainee in Marketing. He has earned a prolific career at BAT Group over the last 15 years during which he has held various Marketing roles.

During his tenure in the organization, Mr. Hackett was also designated as the General Manager for the Fiji & Samoa and Papua New Guinea (PNG) regions respectively. Prior to that he was the Head of Marketing for the PNG region and held multiple managerial roles in the Australian region.

He completed his graduation from the University of Auckland in Bachelor of Commerce: Marketing Management & Management. He is passionate about working in fast-paced, challenging environments and leading diverse teams to deliver extraordinary results.
